Erik Freiburger
Creator, Writer, Podcastor and Speaker
I grew up in Calgary and have been in a wheelchair since a motor vehicle accident in April 1994 resulting in a spinal cord injury at my C4/5 and T4 vertebra. My wife, Bonnie, is also in a wheelchair due to a spinal cord injury at her C1/2 vertebra in April of 1992.
Over the last two decades I led a Christian House Church and was part of a leadership team for a House Church Network spread across Canada. During that time I studied for and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Theology as well as a Masters Degree in Religious Education focusing on Missional Leadership.
2020 – 2023 has brought a number of changes to my health and life. It has resulted in a deeper connection to a desired conversation in what it means to live with a disability, find dignity in my identity, and see hope for the future. Perhaps you might also be experiencing this draw in life. If so, I hope my reflections and ramblings might bring some promise to you as well.
